Sell Mobiles For Cash
Let’s recycle some of those old mobile phones, for cash
Did you know that there are more mobile phones in the UK than there are residents? That figure is surprising enough. What’s even more alarming is that many of these mobile phones end up in the trash. This is a shame when we can all recycle our old mobile phones for money.
That’s right, a growing number of private recycling companies now operate their own Web sites dedicated to sending cash for old mobile phones. These companies send anywhere from 10 pounds to 100 pounds or more for the mobile phones that you no longer want.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of UK residents have no idea that they can recycle their old mobile phones, and they certainly don’t know that they can recycle them for extra spending money.
This remains the case despite advertising efforts by recycling companies and environmental groups. It seems that the word just hasn’t gotten out that it is possible to recycle old unwanted mobile phones.
This is unfortunate because mobile phones are actually extremely recyclable. In fact, fully 80 percent of the parts of most mobile phones can be recycled. It’s also possible to refurbish most mobile phones. They can then be sent to needy individuals who can’t afford to buy a new mobile phone, or they can end up at charitable organizations or non-profit agencies that can make good use of them.
But if the mobile phones don’t enter the recycling stream, none of this can happen.
Instead, these mobile phones will more than likely end up in a landfill somewhere. Here, they’ll take up valuable space, along with other no-longer-wanted electronic devices, and possibly leak toxins into the soil. It’s a terrible situation.
This can all change, though, if the approximately two-thirds of UK residents who don’t understand the basics of mobile phone recycling receive a quick education on how easy it is to send off their mobile phones in exchange for some cash.
Private recycling companies are filling the Web with sites devoted to their mobile phone recycling efforts. Consumers can log onto these pages, search for their particular old mobile phones and click to receive an instant offer. If they like this offer, they can then send their unwanted mobile phone to the recyclers. Within seven business days, they’ll receive their agreed-upon cash settlement.
It’s an easy process, and one that’s beneficial to the environment.
It’s unclear why Web sites such as EarthMobile.com, MobilePhoneXchange.com and SellOldMobile.com haven’t captured a greater percentage of unwanted old mobile phones. But the good news is that there are plenty of these sites out there. Hopefully, their advertising efforts will attract new clients, and divert a growing number of old mobile phones from the country’s waste stream.
Consumers can play a significant role in this. Those who do know about the benefits of recycling mobile phones need to spread the word about it. This means they need to tell their friends and family members, and their co-workers, too, that they can all receive quick cash for their old mobile phones.
Everyone wants to be “green” today. But wanting to be “green” and actually acting in an environmentally sensitive manner are two very different things. By touting the many benefits involved with recycling mobile phones, consumers become real “green” activists. They are making a difference when it comes to protecting the planet.
The greater number of people who spread the word about mobile phone recycling, the sooner the country can divert potentially millions of them from the waste stream. It’s up to everyone to spread the positive word about recycling mobile phones for money.
